# Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Notate account whenever you want. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

## Delete from the app

Open **Settings → My Account** and choose **Delete Account**. Confirm with your password and a typed confirmation. This works on the web, desktop, Android, and iOS apps.

On the desktop and mobile apps, the Markdown files already on your device are left in place, and the app switches to free mode so you can keep using those files without an account.

If you can't reach the app, sign in at [app.notate.md](https://app.notate.md) and delete your account from **Settings → My Account**.
