Folders are one way to organize; tags and favorites give you a couple more.

## Tags

Add tags to a note and browse everything with that tag from the sidebar. Tags autocomplete from the ones you already use, and you can rename or remove a tag everywhere at once. Because tags live in the note's frontmatter, they travel with the file. The [markdown guide](https://notate.md/markdown-guide/#tags) covers both ways to write one, in frontmatter and inline in the body.

## Favorites

Star the notes and folders you return to most and reach them in one click from the **Favorites** tab. Reorder them however you like so your most-used notes stay at the top.
