Open **Settings → Editor** on web and desktop to shape how the editor works. The mobile editor is simpler and exposes fewer of these options.

## View and saving

- **Default view mode** sets how new notes open: **Editor**, **Live** (live preview), **Split**, or **Preview**.
- **Note auto-save delay** controls how long after you stop typing Notate saves, from 500ms to 5s.

## Layout and spacing

- **Tab size** switches indentation between 2 or 4 spaces.
- **Line numbers** turns the editor gutter on or off.
- **Word wrap** turns soft wrapping on or off for long lines.

## Cursor

- **Cursor blink** turns the blinking cursor on or off.
- **Cursor style** sets the shape: **Line**, **Block**, or **Underline**.

## Link previews

When **Link previews** is on, pasting a single URL expands it inline into a title, description, and image.
