Semantic search
Keyword search is fast and works everywhere. Semantic search adds a second way to find things: by meaning. It comes with the AI plan, and it is also included on the Sync plan once you add a provider key of your own — either an Anthropic or an OpenAI one will do, because semantic search runs on Notate’s own embeddings provider rather than on your key.
Search by meaning
Describe what you’re looking for in your own words and Notate finds the notes that are about that idea, even when they don’t contain your exact terms. It’s useful when you remember the gist of a note but not the wording.
How it works
Notate builds a semantic index of your notes and matches your query against it. Combined with keyword search, it makes sure the right note surfaces whether you remember what it said or just what it was about.
