Table of contents and backlinks
Two panels help you move around a note and see how it connects to the rest of your work.
Table of contents
The table of contents panel lists a note’s headings, so you can jump straight to a section instead of scrolling. It makes long notes quick to navigate.
Backlinks
The backlinks panel shows which other notes link to the note you are viewing, based on wiki-links. See the wiki-links guide for how links work.
Each backlink shows the line the link sits in, not just the title of the note it comes from. Seeing the sentence around a link usually answers “why does this note point here?” without your having to open it.
Backlinks are computed from your own files, so they need no account, no AI, and no connection.
Seeing all of it at once
The backlinks panel answers that for one note at a time. To see every link in the workspace at once, open the Note Map in Links mode: a circle per note, a line per link, colored by folder. It is on every plan, including free.
If you want notes that belong together whether or not you have linked them, see suggested links. That feature needs the AI plan.
