Folders and workspaces

Last updated

Notate’s organization maps directly to how your files sit on disk, so what you see in the app is what you’d see in Finder or the Files app.

Folders

Create folders, nest them as deep as you like, and drag notes between them. Each folder is a real directory on disk, so moving a note in Notate moves the file too.

Workspaces

A workspace is a named collection of one or more root folders. Use separate workspaces to keep, say, work and personal notes apart, and switch between them from the workspace switcher. Free plans include unlimited workspaces and unlimited root folders.

Everything stays on disk

Folders and workspaces are just directories, so your organization is portable and survives outside Notate.
