Notate keeps Markdown tables tidy so they stay readable in your file and easy to work with.
Write a table
Write a standard Markdown table with pipes and dashes, the same syntax GitHub uses. As you move your cursor off a table, Notate auto-formats the column spacing so the source stays neatly aligned.
Table controls
Put your cursor in a table and its controls appear at the top right of it: add row, add column, an alignment picker for the current column, and a menu with delete row, delete column, move row, and delete table. The table you are in is marked down its left edge so you can see which one the buttons apply to.
These are part of the contextual toolbars, so they appear with Toolbar set to Contextual. See Formatting as you write.
Edit rendered tables
In Live and Preview modes, tables render as real tables. Click a rendered table to edit its cells in place, then move on and Notate tidies the spacing again. For the pipe-and-dash syntax itself, including how the colons set column alignment, see the markdown guide.
